The New Grand Bentley, Or At Least The Front Of It!

Just in case all of you didn't know Bentley's current flagship, the Arnage is the last vestige of old Bentley prior to becoming part of the Volkswagen Group. The luxury automaker is currently in the process of building the 150 final series Arnage models and getting ready to launch a replacement.

That car now dubbed the new Grand Bentley still remains very much a mystery, but the folks in Crewe have released the first teaser image and video of the new car. At this point all we know is that it will bear the famed winged B hood ornament. Bentley will be the featured marque at this year's Pebble Beach Concours and that is expected to to be the site of the Grand Bentley's debut. In the meantime check out the special site for the car at http://www.newgrandbentley.com.

THE Code X: Vicious Machine On The High Sea's!

In the world of luxury motor yachts there has, until recently, been little that one could call truly modern in design. Apart from the bravely angular and architectural Wally boats, the design literate billionaire had little choice to match their Zaha Hadid summer house, Alfred Haeberli lounge chair or Bang & Olufsen home cinema equipment.

Step forward Swiss company Code X. Their 47′ 7” catamaran has a daringly minimalist and mean origami-meets-Tie-fighter look to it and matches avant garde styling with equally cutting edge technology.

Depending on one’s mood the Code X can either be thrust along at a brisk 80 knots by twin Ilmor formula one engines, delivering a hefty 710hp a piece, or at a more leisurely 9 knots by the twin electric motors. These can provide up to two hours of service when running off the lithium batteries and when they run dry there is also the option of continuing for an unlimited period using power generated by the catamaran’s on-board solar panels.

As if the choice of power sources wasn’t enough the Bond-villain factor is upped even more by details such as touch screen control and a GPS-controlled ‘virtual anchor’ system that utilises the electric motors to maintain a stationary position regardless of wind or currents.

Code X is based in Meggen on the shores of Lake Lucerne in Switzerland

The Debut of Veritas RS III

Veritas RS III is most certainly a dream car, let's make no mistake about that. This is a beauty of a car that is the revival of the 40's-era BMW racing team. Who doesn't love an open cockpit super car? It comes with a choice of two BMW M-sourced powertrains, 480hp V8 or 600hp V10 which allows it to reach 60 mph from a standstill in the three-second range en route to a top speed over 200 mph with either engine and no electronic aids! The much awaited car starts from a base price of $375,000 and only 50 models are going to be produced!

Louis Vuitton launching on Twitter!!!

Louis Vuitton has recently had an online presence (November 2007), but not for very long. But this time alone, the Monogram Tote bag has been the first designer bag that has been launched even before it is released to stores. The spacious and trendy bag will retail for $1000 until the 1st of June. Louis Vuitton has also decided to step into the world of Twitter, the social networking website, and offering us the latest information on new Louis Vuitton events and products. This move was made of course to bring LV into the forefront of the high end social media! I might just work out for them, only time will tell....

CUBE : A Different Way to Live Above The Rest!!

You can choose the design of your phone, your computer, and your car - so why not your condominium?

That’s what Chad Oppenheim, head of Miami-based Oppenheim Architecture & Design, asked himself while putting together his architectural thesis at Brown University.

The question became the impetus for his latest project: a condominium complex, set to be completed by the end of 2010, that takes a bottom-up, user-generated approach to constructing residential space.

be promotes its occupants to design their own domain with the possibility of connecting multiple cube modules vertically, horizontally, and diagonally in addition to creating double height volumes, garden voids and cantilevered living environments.

Sale of the 113 condominium units is on hold due to the market downturn. Penthouse and cantilevered units like the one in the top images will sell for $800/sf.

The cubes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, although you can’t book them online yet. Oppenheim says residents shouldn’t be forced to compromise.

“The goal is to create an innovative but simple structure that gives flexibility,” he says. “This is going to be the next tier of living.

And since I really do think its going to be the next tier of living, I will be waiting on my check for the good people at Oppenheim for this get Plug. *Pause!! LOL

The Overlord Mark Four Watch!!!

Nothing says 'fine timepiece" like the word "Overlord" in the title. This should be the watch of choice for all megalomaniacal rising stars! Aside from the functional and lume filled, yet somewhat homely subsidiary seconds dial (bright red on pale green?), this Graham Chronofighter Oversize Overlord Mark Four watch is pretty cool. The best part is easily the "riveted" look of the dial, meant to remind you of mechanized war machines, (or just machines) from the past. Most obviously fighter/bomber aircraft. Actually this watch is named after a specific "Overlord" mission that was part of British Air Force history.

The look of the dial in the 47mm wide case is inspired from Hurricane and Spitfire aircraft interiors. The basic Graham Chronofighter watch theme is there in its full glory, complete with the large size and trigger-like chronograph pusher system. Inside the watch is an automatic movement and quality for Graham timepieces is quite good. I've always felt that their watches are very 'solid' feeling. The Chronofighter Oversize Overlord Mark Four watch will be available as part of a limited edition of 500. I still get irked by use of the term "oversize," as I don't think it makes any sense - for anything really. It feels/sounds like marketing bullshit. The only things that are "oversized" are to big to actually work/fit - whereas this timepiece will work and fit just fine. Look for availability soon with pricing that I imagine will be between $8,000 - $20,000.

The Marten 49!!!!

Its damn near summer time now, so its time to hit the beach/ yacht/sailing scene hard!! And better way to do this then in Australian yacht builder Azzura Marine’s Marten 49. Marine seems to be riding the carbon fiber craze also. This yacht is a true beauty that is a sleek-lined, ultra stylish cruiser-race. It comes with a carbon fiber hull, bulkheads and deck. The three main virtues of this baby are maximum flexibility and maneuverability and luxury through advanced technology. The proof of this is the clever 'hydraulic lifting keel for improved draught and performance when racing! I'm not suggesting that you do race but If someone wants to make a wager on a race then why not? So if your going to race at least this boat has reduced draught for accessibility to harbour's and anchorages when cruising, in addition to a retractable carbon bow. So if you are into sailing and cruisers, Marten 49 will definitely be on your wishlist

Tom Ford “Made to Measure” Shoes

Tom Ford is one of my favorite high fashion designers, so as the saying goes if the shoe fits, then it's perfectly wearable; if the shoe fits like Tom Ford's made-to-measure footwear, then it's nigh-on perfect. Customers can select from any one of 18 styles - from lace-ups to loafers - and an almost bewildering number of materials (14 different kinds of calf leather, not to mention suede and crocodile skin). Still not individual enough? Then add a monogram or have your moniker inscribed inside the shoe. Measuring complete, the order hotfoots its way to Naples to begin a painstaking three-month process that gives the shoe-to-be (and presumably the shoemaker) time to rest between each of the six layers of polish. Alas, the service is currently only available in Ford's flagship stores in New York and Milan, but then that hardly takes the shine off. For those willing to spend in excess of $3500 this is a great look for you!!

U.S. Passport Rules Changing on June 1, 2009

ATTENTION, ATTENTION, for all of you who will be traveling abroad (including Canada & Mexico)The passport rules are going to change on June 1 for Western Hemisphere travel. If you plan to travel outside the U.S. this year, get or renew your passport now, and think twice before planning a car trip to Mexico or Canada in June. That's because come next month (unless Congress changes the deadline), Americans will need to show a passport, a passport card, or other special document to return to the United States by land or sea from Mexico and Canada.

What do you need to do? Get reading, and get planning.

What you need now. Generally, you need a passport to enter the U.S. by air from any foreign country. If you enter by land or sea from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, or Bermuda, you may not need a passport, but you will need at least a birth certificate or other proof of citizenship, plus a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license. Children 18 or younger need only a birth certificate for land and sea entry from these areas.

What you'll need starting June 1.
The same rules apply for air travel -- passport required. If you're arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, or Bermuda by land or sea, you'll generally have several choices: a passport; a passport card. There will be exceptions for land and sea crossings from these destinations. U.S. and Canadian children younger than 16, for example, will need only proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate; in organized groups, the cutoff will be age 18.

Passengers on cruise ships that sail round-trip from a U.S. port may need only a birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID (although the cruise line or foreign countries they visit may require a passport).

So please be prepared before things get real different, and be very selective on where you choose to travel to! The world is not what it use to be for us Americans, so act and travel accordingly.

A Small Splurge In a Trying Time!!

If your like me, then you enjoy a glass of wine from time to time just to relax. I have always felt that in times of prosperity people should splurge on fine wine. Discerning drinkers will find however that a tighter budget need not mean sacrificing the pleasures of enjoying the fruit of the vine. New York-based Dreyfus, Ashby & C0., a national independent importer and marketer of fine wines and spirits, has put together a list of six great summer wines from around the globe, ideal for various cuisines and all priced under $20. Here's the rundown:

From Nederburg, the most award-winning name in South African wine, comes Lyric (above left), a new blend of Sauvignon blanc, Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. Freshly cut grass and green peppers meet aromas of peach and apricot to create a wine that is crisp, fresh and beautifully acidic, perfect for pairing with anything from fresh fruit to seafood. SRP: $10.99

Château de Campuget's Tradition Rosé (center left) is a crisp and fruity rosé wine from the up-and-coming Costières de Nîmes region of France, made using roughly 30% Grenache Noir and 70% Syrah. The color is obtained through a short maceration of two hours which gives it its distinctive shiny hue. Perfect with spicy and ethnic foods. SRP: $10.99

Enrique Foster is a top-flight operation with the objective of producing the best Malbec in Argentina, which is to say the best in the world. Ique (center right) is fresh and young with fruity characteristics and a ruby-red color. Its firm structure and soft tannins make it the perfect counterpart for ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. SRP: $11.99

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, is one of our all-time favorite wines. Geisen's bottling (above right) has all the ripe fruit and the crisp, green and lively components associated with the wine, aromatic, flavorful and genuinely refreshing. Perfect with a light fish with a citrusy sauce. SRP: $14.99

This is a strong wine list for under $20, I wish more importers would come out with deals and fresh finds for us consumers! We will have to wait and see, in the mean time enjoy these great bottles of wine with that special person in your life.....

A Powerful Package: The Ferrari 599XX !!

Ferrari is synonymous with not just the color ed but class, style and of course - speed. And their latest beauty, the 599XX which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show was the embodiment of all these traits and much more. Based on the 599 GTB Fiorano, the €1.1million ($1.4 million) prototype model is a hardcore racer that comes equipped with many advanced features. The modifications on the bodywork help the 599XX to produce 280 kg or 717lbs of downforce at 200km/h (124mph) and 630kg or 1,390 lbs at 300km/h (187mph). Sorry I'm really into cars so I had to give specs! LOL, this car is mean and with that price tag we all know only certain people will be able to afford it!

Mondrian Takeover: First Pool Party Of The Season!

So its warming up and people are ready to show off that beach body that they have been working (Or shooting up) so hard for. What better way to do so then the first Official Pool Party of the season. So with that I present a few pic's of the party that was at the Mondrian Scottsdale (Client of mine) pool this past Sunday. Being the Tastemaker & Maven that I am, I was asked to make an appearance(PAID)! And looking at the pics they needed some color out there so I had to bring the team with me. We really got it in, the drinks were flowing and I met some really dope people. Also there were so many ladies out there it didn't make sense. But trust me, we took care of that situation with ease. To bad I can't find the pics of the rest of my team, its all good I held it down. Shout Out to Brian Kelly, who was the photographer. You can check him out at EBYBK.com. Anyway all jokes aside, it was a great afternoon poolside and there are hundreds more were this came from! Its going to be a hot and crazy summer, better find somewhere nice to hang out and GET IT IN!!

Superyacht Silver Angel Is A Stunner !!

Its almost summer time, so that means woman wear less clothes and men loose their damn minds. Summer also brings great weather, pool parties and boat trips. So if you are a fan of yachts, you will not want to miss this superyacht. The Silver Angel is 65 metres long and it is launched by Italy's Benetti from its Livorno shipyard. The sinuous, streamlined aluminum superstructure and steel hull has been designed by naval architect Stefano Natucci. The credit of the elegant interiors also goes to him. The design was also done in conjunction with London-based Argent Design. This wasn't an easy affair, it required putting together some really expensive and exclusive materials. This beautiful yacht is made out of 1,200 square metres of black glossy oak and 700 square metres of marble: fine white onyx for the interior and travertine for the external areas. The Silver Angel is capable of holding 32 people. There are 7 cabins that are 2 twin, 3 double, 1 master and 1 VIP that accommodate 14 guests.
Now tell me you would not want to take this bad boy out for some fun with some friends!!

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren " Desire"!!

FAB Design has just fine tuned the SLR and dubbed it as ‘Desire’. This latest model baby from FAB design leaves you speechless with its unmatched looks and design. Although, compared to the standard SLR, the vehicle has gained considerably in width; it still manages to impress. The carbon fiber re body gives this car a distinctive style and personality. Enough about looks, here is something about the machine. The SLR suspension and engine have been modified to bring power up to 750 hp and nearly 800 torques! The FAB Design "Desire" attains a regulated top speed of 310 km/h and reaches the 100 km/h mark in just 3.6 seconds. The stylish and sleek bodywork with an additional rear wing increases the cars downforce considerably. Ultra chic, this car is definitely ‘desirable’. With the SLR "Desire", FAB Design has made another impressive statement of its special class in the field of high-end luxury customization. Worlds Most Expensive Champagne!!!

As a avid bottle popper I'm always trying to find something new and fly to drink. That being so the price of bottles in the club have not dropped even in this recession. So If your like me and always wondered what the world's most expensive bubbly is, wonder no more. This 1928 Krug is the costliest champagne ever to be sold at an auction. This 75cl bottle comes from the very prestigious Krug Collection. It sold for a whopping $21,200 at an Acker Merrall & Condit's auction in Hong Kong. Champagne expert and the head of the auction house Sotheby's, Serena Sutcliffe claims that the 1928 Krug is 'one of the greatest Champagnes ever made'. I'm inclined to believe her after hearing about its distinguished flavor that has notes of apricot and honey. It has clearly beaten the previous most expensive bubbly which was the Methuselah (6 litre bottle) of Louis Roederer, Cristal Brut 1990, Millennium 2000 that fetched $17,625 in the US in December 2005. I wonder who will be the next record breaker?
