THE Code X: Vicious Machine On The High Sea's!

In the world of luxury motor yachts there has, until recently, been little that one could call truly modern in design. Apart from the bravely angular and architectural Wally boats, the design literate billionaire had little choice to match their Zaha Hadid summer house, Alfred Haeberli lounge chair or Bang & Olufsen home cinema equipment.

Step forward Swiss company Code X. Their 47′ 7” catamaran has a daringly minimalist and mean origami-meets-Tie-fighter look to it and matches avant garde styling with equally cutting edge technology.

Depending on one’s mood the Code X can either be thrust along at a brisk 80 knots by twin Ilmor formula one engines, delivering a hefty 710hp a piece, or at a more leisurely 9 knots by the twin electric motors. These can provide up to two hours of service when running off the lithium batteries and when they run dry there is also the option of continuing for an unlimited period using power generated by the catamaran’s on-board solar panels.

As if the choice of power sources wasn’t enough the Bond-villain factor is upped even more by details such as touch screen control and a GPS-controlled ‘virtual anchor’ system that utilises the electric motors to maintain a stationary position regardless of wind or currents.

Code X is based in Meggen on the shores of Lake Lucerne in Switzerland

UPDATE: PROJECT NATAL VIDEO!!!

Here is the video, I told you its about to get serious in the Gaming Industry!!!

Gearing Up: Project Natal for Xbox 360

This might not look like much but this is a serious problem for Nintendo in my humble opinion. Microsoft dropped a pretty significant bombshell today and I can't help but wonder if Nintendo is rethinking their Wii strategy at this very moment. Codenamed Project Natal, the device is a camera that captures motion data in real time and recognizes both faces and voices. Rather than picking up a controller the camera tracks your whole body whether you're kicking a soccer ball, painting a canvas, or simply navigating through a list of movies without ever pressing a button or wiggling a controller. Like I said at the top, this is a problem for Nintendo and everyone who bought the Wii.

SONY PSP GO

Sony presents its latest version of their gaming handheld - the PSP Go. It is not just a small update, but a completely new device, now sporting a slide-out mechanism, hiding the controls of the gaming console beneath the screen. The Playstation Portable Go! comes with a 3.8″ screen, 16 gigabyte of memory, Bluetooth, a 43% loss in weight and it comes without the UMD drive. All games and movies can be directly charged onto the flash memory of the device, via the PSN Store. I cannot wait to see it in action!! Sony needs to send me one for review and a check for the marketing I just did! LOL

Cicolette Concept Exercise Bike!!

I never thought that exercise equipment could be transformed into functional pieces of art. But Ciclotte has proved me wrong. The Cicolette concept exercise bike looks like a unique piece of art and still promises unbeatable performance. What better way to get some cardio in then being stylish and modern. Recently exhibited in Milan this classy piece of exercise equipment has been designed by designer Luca Schieppati. It has been made almost entirely out of carbon fiber so you can expect this cycle to be lightweight and easy to carry. There is also a road faring version of this single big wheeled cycle which the designer hopes to bring to the market along with the exercise version. Either way there will be people lined up around the corner to get this when it drops. Today's consumer still likes to have something fresh and new to show off to their friends and neighbors.

Dots by Werner Aisslinger for Conmoto a Perfect Combo of Fireplace and Seat

This exceptional fireplace by Werner Aisslinger for Conmoto is the first time that a fireplace and seating have been brought together to create a portable product family. The cylindrical elements are easy to assemble while the textile cushions are completely weather resistant and can be effortlessly removed and washed. All I have to say is this is very dope!! Just another thing to make your house or apartment different!

Feel the Time - Timepiece for the Blind

Although the blind can’t be in awe of the watches that us, privileged with eyesight get to see, designer Anna Bieniek took an approach with the visually impaired in mind. Feel the Time’s face features rotating disc with a tangible nub on each allowing the blind to read the time. The three-dimensional rings separate the discs from each other and a flexible membrane protects the face of the watch. Blind or not, this watch definitely challenges your senses and looks good on any wrist. Shout out to Limitemagazine on this one crazy!

New da Vinci Si is world’s only robotic surgical system with 3D HD

When you talk about HD quality, it's entertainment that comes to your mind first. Or at least that's what comes to my mind. Anyway, never did it strike me that this technology can be put to some use at the surgical front. The new and improved da Vinci Si surgical system displays your intestines in 3D HD. This is pretty cool even though you are not going to be conscious to enjoy a 3D HD view of your insides. The system is a perspective created through a double-camera, double-display stereoscopic system. This makes it easier for your surgeon to look at your intestines and other organs. I'm not sure I'm quite comfortable with this idea, however only time will tell. I expect to see this system on the next Scrubs or Grey's Anatomy episode. Be sure to have the right insurrance because YOU will pay for them to use this new system for you next major surgery.

The First Hotelicopter!!

You don’t need to go to the moon to show how crazy a traveler you are, just take a flight and spend some quality, luxurious, pampering time on air. Yeah, on air on the hotelicopter. It is not a joke, there actually is something called such and it is a combination of the world’s biggest helicopter and the world’s first flying hotel. The company that is involved (no names) began work in 2004 by modifying a Soviet-made Mil V-12. It will feature all the regular five star facilities and features including private entertainment systems, room service, spa treatments, yoga classes, gaming and a tea garden. No prices out yet but the inaugural flight is planned for June 26th.

Tesla Motor's Model S electric sedan hits the roads for $50,000

Tesla Motors has finally unveiled Model S in Hawthorne, California. The Model S has been kept under wraps and there's been absolutely no information leaked about it before today. It was easy for them to hold all information on the car as it was being designed at a high-security rocket facility. Firstly, the car looks great , the interior and exterior are both hot. For those who don't know, the Tesla S is a first mass-produced highway-capable electric car. There will be 20,000 units produced annually by the end of the first year and the Model S will start its price tag at about $49,000. For this amount, you will get the 160-mile range pack, but a 230-mile range pack and a 300-mile range pack is also on the cards. The car can fit seven people and there's ample room for luggage. There are some nice dashboard screens here and the main one is fully Internet and 3G capable. The car can be recharged in 4 hours with a 220V outlet. Also, the standard S will get to 60 in 5.5 to 6.0 seconds.

Multi-Touch G2 from PQLabs, iTable Coming Soon

The Multi-Touch G2 from PQLabs looks to offering an attachment that hooks on to your existing 32-inch (or larger) set with double-sided tape. In the process it gives you multi-touch sensitivity, enough finger space to go touch-happy! The firm is also coming out with the iTable, which is a multi-touch panel with a built-in computer. I will forgive you, if you know about or still remember the Microsoft Surface for a moment. The Multi-Touch G2 will be selling for $2,399, which may deter the avid gamer, considering its reflexive responses to the Warcraft 3. No pricing for the iTable yet.

Apple Is Back At It!!

Our good friends at Apple are hard at work on the iphone nano. Now we all know they would come up with something, I just don't know how the consumer will take to it. The price point has to be right and it would have to be several carriers. But that won't happen since AT&T has the exclusive rights in the U.S.. We will see what happens....
