Louis Vuitton launching on Twitter!!!

Louis Vuitton has recently had an online presence (November 2007), but not for very long. But this time alone, the Monogram Tote bag has been the first designer bag that has been launched even before it is released to stores. The spacious and trendy bag will retail for $1000 until the 1st of June. Louis Vuitton has also decided to step into the world of Twitter, the social networking website, and offering us the latest information on new Louis Vuitton events and products. This move was made of course to bring LV into the forefront of the high end social media! I might just work out for them, only time will tell....

Lady Dior “The Lady Noire Affair”



For those of you who don't already know, the Dior fashion house is to launch on the Internet a 6 ½ minute thriller entitled “The Lady Noire Affair” on May 20th. Its going to tell the story of Lady Dior. This is one way to bring the Dior brand back to the forefront of the fashion industry. We will see if it works out for them, smart marketing plan on their end!!

New Hennessy Black!!

Hennessy Black, the company’s first major launch since 1961, will be available in 10 markets throughout the U.S. including Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, New York City, Ohio, Washington DC and Massachusetts. The company hopes the new drink - which has a blend of Jasmine, daffodils and orange flowers mixed with citrus, honey and grapes - will take the Hennessy brand beyond the cognac category to the premium mixed spirits. The drink will come to market with a variety of mixed drink recipes, including: Hennessy Black ice (with lemon juice and sugar); Hennessy Black Bull (coffee Liqueur and cola with ice); Hennessy Black Spice (ginger, syrup and lemon juice); and Hennessy Black Royale (champagne, lemon juice and syrup).

“Today is an ideal time to launch a new product — consumers are increasingly seeking new and different ideas that can excite them,” says Andy Glaser, senior VP of Hennessy Business, adding that the Hennessy Artistry program which blends music, cultures and drinks, has a few more collaborations lined-up for this year to be announced in a few weeks.

Rapper/producer Swizz Beatz has been tapped by Hennessy V.S. to help launch the new, limited line of cognac.

The rapper will perform an original song, “When I Step Into the Club,” alongside the JabbaWockeez of “America’s Best Dance Crew” during a launch event in New York on May 5. An accompanying video by director Hype Williams will be revealed as well.

“Beatz is a long-time fan of the brand and approached us looking for ways we could work together. Since this product is all about having fun in the club, he suggested collaborating on a track that would be a hot dance song in the clubs,” Glaser, tells Billboard.biz.

Looks like some brands are taking advantage of the recession and trying new products out before the economy recovers and the real brand wars begin again! Not mad at you LVMH, looks like the team over there has a well thought out plan. They just seem to be on the pulse of the consumer right now with all the different moves each brand is making underneth them. I have to say they are a very strong Holding Company!! Everyone better watchout!

Billboard War Anyone? Audi vs BMW!


When two luxury brands decide to take on each other you can expect entertainment for sure. And that is exactly what BMW and Audi have provided to its customers in California. Through a unique marketing war, the two brands are definitely leaving no stones unturned to put the other down. Don’t believe it? Check this out. On the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and Beverly Glen Blvd Audi has put up some billboards showing the all new Audi A4 along with the headline: “Your move, BMW”. And what is BMW’s response? Santa Monica BMW had just one thing to say to its rival- Checkmate! A true marketing game played with skill and strategy, wonder who will emerge the victor of this great billboard battle. Until then, we might as well get a few laughs from these entertaining signs. Once again consumer marketing at it best!! Stay tuned coming to a Large to medium market near you! (Sorry to people living small markets, its just not going to happen for you)

Maven Moment: Always Thinking and Moving Forward!!


I haven't blogged about what I have been doing really but come Wednesday all that will change. It has been a cool year for me and Jimmie and the rest of the team at Infinite. I'm really looking forward to all the projects that we are working on for 09 and the future. Got to big up Oren at Easel, who is one of the best graphic designers in the game. I know every one says that about their friends but it's the truth. I can't forget L.H.P.R. who holds down my press and the Ryan and Brian at LiveNites. Then there's Mannie at TTS Mag, if you don't know about him yet then you sleeping under a rock. Last but not least I look forward to the competition in 09 with all of you other forward thinkers and Mavens out there. If it wasn't for all of you(there's only 1000 of us) I would be bouncing off the walls some where in France.
