Is President Barack Obama really 'The Most Expensive President Since 1945??

Let me say this first, I'm down for President Obama 110%, that being said in his first 100 days there are problems with how he is handling things. We have to be truthful to ourselves and look at whats on his plate. At any rate he has a tough job ahead of him and he needs our support. But as I look around not everybody is in favor of President Obama and this fact is crystal-clear from an opinion post on Spiegel. Award-winning journalist, Gabor Steingart, has more than one reason to state that current US President Barack Obama is ‘The Most Expensive President Since 1945’. He isn’t shy from proclaiming that Obama’s first 100 days in office were expensive, glamorous and often contradictory. Evaluating Obama’s performance on why the 44th President got himself tagged as the most expensive President since the year of 1945. The prime reason for Obama's first 100 days touted as the most costly in American postwar history- Obama has ignited a dangerous time bomb in the US government's budget. The economic stimulus program and the billions in bailout funds for Wall Street banks are being paid for primarily with borrowed funds.

Also from a financial standpoint, the United States cannot afford many of these bailout programs as they are not being paid for with taxpayer money. However Obama claims so. Instead, the money is coming from the savings of the Japanese, Chinese and Europeans. The United States now needs $1 billion (€760 million) in foreign funds every working day just to maintain its standard of living. It is also reported that the country consumes more than half of all worldwide savings. Not only is this is costly, but it is also extremely risky. More important, it is not sustainable. By taking this approach, Obama is only leading his country more deeply into dependence on creditors from around the world.

Moreover bank bonuses are likely to be twice as high as they were before the crisis this year. Also the first African-American President’s family’s lifestyle isn’t short of glitz and glamour. It is very obvious that Michelle Obama’s wardrobe is full of designer outfits that make a statement without fail.

Gabor summed it very well - So far, the Obama presidency is as contradictory as reality. No one today can say whether he will end up being the president he wants to be. Presidents develop in office.

To tell you all the truth Gabor makes some very good points when you go back and do your own research. Also 74% of americans are having trouble with their finances and most of these people have manageable debt. So imagine what our President and his team are going to go threw getting this country's debt back in order after we spend our way out of a recession/depression! Its just a thought, keep your third eye open!!!

A Moment of Clarity !!!

OK people lets get right into it, I'm sure by now everyone knows about the Air Force flying one of the planes "Classified" as Air Force One when the President is on it over New York City and Jersey yesterday. The plane was escorted by "Two" F16 fighter jets and it was a photo opp being done for the government. This being New York City and with people still reeling from the attacks of almost eight years ago, residents and workers in the area evacuated many buildings. This photo opp was done in very poor taste if I say so myself. But lets keep it 100 and stop all the bitchassness now coming out of this story. There are reporters trying to get comments from the 911 families?! WTF!! They don't have a damn thing to do with this, and why would it be important to talk to the families of the people who died that day then these people weren't even there. The people who died on 911 are important not their punk ass families who keep trying to add their tidbits on shit. Also its 2009 and we have way more problems going on than to worry about AIR FORCE ONE FLYING OVER THE FUCKING CITY!! So what if it was flying some what low, it had jets escorting it and it's the Presidents Plane! Come the fuck on with the bullshit, stop being scary ass Americans for 5 minutes and look at the damn facts. Then there's people out there that wanted a warning about this stunt, first off simple people, the Air Force never tells anyone when and where AIR FORCE ONE is because of security concerns. Second what makes everyone think that they are that important in the grand scheme of things! The reason why they didn't say anything is because the Presidents life is more important than hundreds of thousands of us. It sucks but it's the truth, and everyone needs to understand this. Look I'm not in New York this month but I will be back next, so I feel for all of you who are THERE, and realize this was scary, however, think for a moment and realize the security threat that could have occurred if a “notice” went out advising of a “fly-over”!!!! I love all of New York (I'm from Harlem) and understand….your concerns..I’m just asking you to think about it.

It's About Damn Time!!

I have to say after reading this on Bossip, I had to re-post it on my site just because I am happy that there is some progress being made in our community. We all know(Black people that is) how the police go out their way to mess with us. So it's good to hear that some of us have stopped putting ourselves in their cross hairs. Or at least brothers out there have decided to be really low key with their moves.

The number of African-American drug offenders in state prisons has declined for the first time since law enforcement agencies started the war on drugs 25 years ago, even as convictions of white drug offenders have increased, according to a new study released Tuesday.
The study, by the Sentencing Project, a nonprofit policy research group in Washington, found that the number of blacks in state prisons for drug crimes dropped 21.6 percent from 1999 to 2005, the last year for which data are available. The number of white drug offenders in state prisons grew by 42.6 percent in the same period.
The total number of drug offenders in state prisons increased to 253,300 in 2005 from 251,200 in 1999, according to the report.

“I’m encouraged that there are fewer African-Americans in prison for drug offenses,” said Marc Mauer, the executive director of the Sentencing Project and the report’s author. “But the overall number of blacks in prison is still high, and we’ve replaced some of those black drug offenders with white drug offenders. The racial disparity has lessened, but the overall effect of the drug war has not.”

Experts in criminal justice suggested several reasons for the decline in imprisoned black drug offenders, including a reduction in racial profiling, a drop in open-air drug sales and a cooling of the crack cocaine trade that devastated urban communities throughout the 1980s and ’90s.
The study, which was based on an analysis of data from the F.B.I. and other federal agencies, noted a sharp contrast between state and federal prisons, where there was an overall expansion of inmates — black, white and Latino — serving time for drug-related offenses.

Blacks continued to make up the largest segment — 44 percent — of all prisoners serving time for drug offenses, although they were only 12 percent of the total population, while whites, who were 75 percent of the national population, made up 27 percent of all imprisoned drug offenders. The incarceration rate for Latino drug offenders in state prisons was substantially unchanged, 20.2 percent in 2005, down from 20.7 percent in 1999.

Some Truth!!!

So I'm over my lady friends house and I helping her kids color Easter eggs after a morning of family prayer and I start to ask myself "do people think that this day is about a bunny and punk ass eggs?". Those who know already act accordingly and for those who don't lets break it down a little. So here it is a brief understanding of the name Easter in the non religious form.

Easter is named for a Saxon goddess who was known by the names of Oestre or Eastre, and in Germany by the name of Ostara. She is a goddess of the dawn and the spring, and her name derives from words for dawn, the shining light arising from the east. Our words for the "female hormone"estrogen derives from her name.

Ostara was, of course, a fertility goddess. Bringing in the end of winter, with the days brighter and growing longer after the vernal equinox, Ostara had a passion for new life. Her presence was felt in the flowering of plants and the birth of babies, both animal and human. The rabbit (well known for its propensity for rapid reproduction) was her sacred animal.

Understand where everything comes from, I don't celebrate "Easter"! Its Resurrection Sunday to me and those who choose to look beyond what they saw and hear... This is a day to spend with loved ones and to thank Jesus for giving his life for us. For all of you who are not Christians then its a Marketing holiday like Valentines day so spend and help the economy grow. We are still in a RECESSION!!
